Microsoft has canceled a series of June updates that could have broken the Start menu. This is reported by BleepingComputer.

As it became known to journalists, Microsoft acknowledged the presence of errors in the June updates. So, update KB5014668 and later versions could disrupt the Start menu. “After the updates were released, we received reports that this element of the system could not be opened on a small number of devices,” the corporation’s engineers noted.

The company noted that updates with an error were released after June 23, 2022. The corporation’s specialists have removed problematic updates using the Known Issue Rollback (KIR) technology, which allows you to cancel the deployment of updates with errors that are not related to OS security.

As a rule, patches launched using KIR reach users’ computers within a day. The update can be accelerated by restarting the device. On corporate PCs, fixing the problem is more difficult – this requires the participation of system administrators.

In early July, it became known that Windows 11 users complained about the current update for the OS. PC owners were unable to install the KB5014668 update due to an error.
